HD spent their childhood years in small towns of Northern California. They created art throughout their childhood rediscovering their passion for art after high school through creating mosaics. They continued to pursue art in the form of mosaics, but wanted to create in a medium with more dimension. Discovering oil paints a few years ago gave HD the opportunity to explore their passion for creating fully. 

HD’s art explores the relationship between their inner child and identity expression. They believe by making art their younger self would long for allows them to lose control so they can gain a deeper understanding of their identity. They express freedom, imagination, and chaos of their inner child through high flow acrylics, brightly colored mixed media backgrounds, and surrealistic elements. 

HD works from their small home studio in Reno, Nevada where they reside with their partner. Together, in their free time, they travel the country camping and exploring
